On the 4th of February 2025, Ruwanpura National College of Education proudly celebrated National Independence Day, honoring the nation’s rich history and freedom. The event, held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was attended by 2nd-year and 1st-year prospective teachers, along with lecturers Mrs K.V.P. Kalawitigoda, Miss D.P.C.S. Kumari

The celebration commenced in front of the President’s Office with the hoisting of the national flag, symbolizing patriotism and national pride. The program then continued in the college auditorium, under the esteemed supervision of Madam President Mrs. A.H.T Thakshila Jayamini, with Major R. Disanayaka Vice President (Administration & Finance) serving as the in-charge lecturer.

A series of inspiring performances followed, including a soulful solo song, a powerful group song, and a compelling speech on the history of National Independence Day by the Vice President (Administration & Finance). These events highlighted the significance of independence and the responsibilities of future educators in shaping the nation.

The celebration was a proud and patriotic moment for the college, reinforcing the importance of unity, heritage, and national identity among students and lecturers.
